This was Solomon’s first Easter. The Easter Bunny came to the kids & they loved all the chocolate. They also got lots of presents from Grandma & Poppy & Aunty Paula.
On Friday we went to church for the service. This Easter the girls have a much greater understanding as to why we celebrate Easter. They understand that Jesus was killed & put on a cross. He died & was buried in a tomb & he came back to life after 3 days. Wow, I must the questions they have asked have almost done my head in!
Danika on the way home from Girl’s Brigade was talking with Kateleigh. Danika said “yeah the bad men killed Jesus, they hurt him & tied him up on a cross…GEE I hope they don’t do that to US”. I’ve been asked why he was wrapped up in cloth. Why did the men hurt Jesus? Why didn’t they put a band-aid on him? The cross at church is that the same cross that Jesus died on? There some the questions & comments they have made & asked.
While camping we tried to focus our attention on the fact that Jesus rose again & b/c of this we can go to heaven & be with him when we die. The girls still ask a lot about heaven & have asked about what happens when you don’t love Jesus. I have had to explain you go to a horrible place & it’s called hell. Danika then asked that what if you didn’t love Jesus & you went to hell, then you said you loved Jesus then?
Our camping time was pretty full on with 3 kids, one being a crawler! Solomon spent time in the walker, in the tent & we also let him go for it on the ground. He liked the tent, but spent most of the night in our bed. He also fed a lot on the weekend & refused to eat food while we were away.
On Sunday mum & dad came up. They made a special trip up to give the kids Easter presents. They were VERY spoilt & we were so happy they made such an effort to see us. Solomon scored very well LOL. Mum gave him 2 whole outfits, 3 pair of Pj’s, shoes & socks. She also gave the girls an outfit & chocolate.
The place we camped at was a little disappointing. We didn’t know we had to take our own water, something they should have told us!! Also the park was FULL, I mean chocco block full. Everyone had 4WD’s, a boat or caravan. We also didn’t realize that the beach was 4WD access only, so we couldn’t go to the beach (unless we got the ferry which was $5 one way). The kids were happy to play around the campsite & made a few new friends. It was nice watching them playing with other children.
here's the girls wearing the new outfit that Aunty Paula & Uncle Chris gave them.
Guess who loves CHOCOLATE!

Gorgeous gorgeous photos BB! Hope Mr S gets better soon.
All beautiful photos BB, as usual! I really liked reading the comments and questions the girls are making about Easter. I think it must be quite challenging to answer them sometimes - the simplest questions are sometimes the trickiest to answer. Surely that would be good for your faith though, and how wonderful to see the kinds of things that they are thinking through.
