The tonsils are OUT!!

Yesterday Kateleigh & Solomon went in for surgery. Both had HUGE tonsils & they really needed taking out. We were unsure if Kateleigh's op would go ahead as she was unwell 24rhs before her op. I had to drive to Gympie with to see the ENT specialist. He was happy with her tonsils, but her temp was the concern.

Even yesterday morning she had a slight temp, but they still did her operation. Solomon was the 1st one day for the day. He was so full of energy just before & he had no idea what lie ahead. I felt a bit upset taking him into theater. He kicked & cried & I had to hold him as he went to sleep. They said for children his age this is very normal.

Kateleigh was a really brave little girl. She was excited before the op & also very quiet. She was brave in theater & had the mask on her face as she went off to sleep. Both kids had a parent with them in recovery. I was mostly with Solomon & Ash was mostly with Kateleigh.

As a present we gave Solomon some Thomas trains & Kateleigh got a bellett set. She was happy with that! They were both very sleepy all afternoon. Solomon HATED the drip in his arm & tried to pull it out. He also hates having the medicine. Last night they both got out of bed for a short time & played.

Today they are eating. We are trying really hard to get Solomon to drink, but he really doesn't want to. I am "bribing him". I make him have a drink before he can watch Thomas. Just mouthfuls of water here & there. Kateleigh is good at having a drink & they have started eating normal foods, but I also made custard.
