Our car was packed to the hilt. We couldn’t possibly fit another thing in there! We had the kayak on the roof & the trailer was totally loaded too. On the day we went, the flooding had started in Northern NSW.
Here is the road & car….
We spent our days between the beach & river. The kids had an absolute ball. They LOVED swimming in the river. The first few days the river was not clear due to all the rain, but after that it was. We often went to the River early in the afternoon.

Solomon
Early mornings were spent at the “little beach”. Danika loved the small waves, but Kateleigh wasn’t very keen. Danika would swim in the water with Ash & Kateleigh & Solomon played on the shore. Danika even had a go at riding a boogie board in. She laughed & thought it was great fun. I was able to get some photos of her catching a wave in, she rode the wave in from where Ash was to the shore.

The kids had fun playing in the sand & Solomon loved picking up rocks & throwing them in the water.
The kids made some new friends. They had an absolute ball playing with the children camping next to us. They often ate meals with them & they spent most of their days playing together. Danika & was totally taken by the little boy. They were practically joined at the hip & they want to get married LOL.
One of the things that they enjoyed most was getting YABBIES! We went in the kayak to get to the island/ sand. Ash would use the yabby pump & I picked them up. I took the claw off & the kids then put them in the bucket. I never knew how much fun a yabby would be LOL.
Here they are…
One of the days Danika caught a ghost crab. She kept him in a bucket all day & at the end of the day we went to the beach & she released him.
Solomon wouldn’t wear a hat. On one of the days we went into Coff’s we got him a new hat. One that has a strap so he couldn’t pull it off his head. He soon got used to wearing a hat on his head & I think he looks rather cute in it.
One of the hardest things about camping was keeping tabs on Solomon. He loved to run & go walk about. There was a small road, so we had to keep a close eye on that, plus there was a river very near by. It was non-stop. We tried using a playpen Ash made but he would crack up in it. In the end we put him in the stroller if we couldn’t chase after him. I tried to think of ways to “keep him at our tent”. He loved playing with the pegs & saucepans.
If you’re wondering why there are so many photos of Solomon it’s b/c he doesn’t get mad at having a photo taken! Kateleigh decided that she did not want to have photos & would pull faces & yell, so that aren’t that many of her LOL.
Here are some shots of the set up….
Ok here are shots that got taken while we were there….
